So you know that insulating your home makes sound
sense, but there are still one or two things you’d
like to find out. Here, Hillserve answer some of
the questions we’re asked most often.
Q) How much could I realistically expect to save
by properly insulting my home?
A ) If your cavity walls are un-insulated,
you could be losing up to 35% of your home’s
heat through them - heat that you are paying for.
By stopping this loss you could see your energy
bills come down by an average of £70-£100
a year – an amount that could almost be doubled
by ensuring your loft is properly insulated too.
Q) Is it true that by insulating
my home, I’d be helping protect the environment?
A) Many of the processes used to generate
the energy used in our homes, also generate gases
such as carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide,
that when released into the atmosphere that contribute
to global warming. By insulating your home you’ll
be making it more energy efficient, reducing the
amount of these gases and their impact.
Q) I’ve heard there are grants
available – would I qualify for one?
A) People on certain types of benefits and
assistance could be entitled to a 100% grant to
cover the total cost of insulating their homes.
Even those not on these benefits could still qualify
for a discount of between 50% and 70%. You can find
out whether you’re entitled and to how much
by talking to a member of Hillserve’s customer
care team on 0800 622415.
Q) Would insulating my home be a very big job?

walls, loft or both, Hillserve’s professionally
trained fitters will work quickly, effectively and
with the minimum of disruption. Once installation
