When Mr and Mrs Walker of Pwllheli were told that they were eligible for free loft insulation they were both surprised. Despite being pensioners neither knew that they could improve their home for free.
British Gas’s “Here to HELP” programme helps people over 70 improve their quality of life through practical tasks, such as supplying and installing insulation free of charge, and services such as putting Mrs Walker in touch with the Royal National Institute for the Blind. The RNIB provided a floor standing lamp with a built in magnifier to help her read and free membership of the organisation.
British Gas first asked Hillserve to survey the Walkers home and recommend the simplest method of improving heat retention. Our installation team then fitted new loft insulation to the property, helping to keep it much warmer over the winter.
