Radio Hillserve

When the girls in Hillserve’s Technical Monitoring Team heard that their local community radio station, Tameside Radio, was offering businesses the chance to host a two hour live broadcast of the Wayne Kay Drivetime show, they decided to volunteer Hillserve as a temporary studio.
Rita Green from Technical Monitoring discussed the idea with Managing Director Julie Hadfield before contacting Tameside Radio and entering the competition to host the show. After a few nervous weeks the news came through that Hillserve had been selected and the Tameside Radio crew would be there on the 22nd July 2009.
After his team had set up their outside broadcast equipment, Wayne Kay hit the airwaves, broadcasting to the borough with his usual programme of music and banter, traffic news and local interest features. Apart from asking the Hillserve staff to join him on air, his only demands were for custard creams and an endless supply of coffee!
