Spacetherm, the appliance of science
When cavity insulation is not possible, or external cladding is not practical, Hillserve have an alternative; The Spacetherm internal cladding system.
Spacetherm is truly high-tech. Its core component is Aerogel, an insulation material used by NASA. Aerogel is incorporated into a fibrous blanket then bonded to standard plasterboard to create Spacetherm panels. These panels can be a little as 17mm in thickness, yet can reduce heat loss by 45%.
Hillserve’s installation teams fix Spacetherm panels directly on to existing internal walls using normal plasterboard nails. The joints are then taped and the nail holes filled ready for finishing. In addition to an outstanding thermal performance, thin Spacetherm panels minimise the loss of room space compared to low-tech internal cladding methods.
